In their “Community Corner,” East Hampton Patch posted a photo album of the Skate-a-Thon along with a nice article:

The Buckskill Winter Club in East Hampton presented the annual Katy’s Courage Fundraiser on ice Sunday; this year’s show was called “In Love With Broadway”, featuring Hauppauge’s “The Rinx Total Skating Program”, Buckskill Winter Club Skating Director Meghan Barnes, and other local talent.
The East Hampton Star wrote about the event and its stars:
Skaters Cut a Figure
The next day, Cory Lillie, who oversees the tennis club’s winter skating programs, and who pretty much put the fund-raiser together, estimated that $5,000 to $7,000 would go to Jim and Brigid Stewart’s Katy’s Courage foundation, which funds scholarships at Pierson and East Hampton High Schools, as well as the weekly Katy’s Kids bereavement counseling group at the Children’s Museum of the East End, and helps to underwrite pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Hamptons.com got the community ready for the event with a pre-event description of the fun:
Skate For A Cause During Buckskill Winter Club’s 6th Annual Katy’s Courage Fundraiser
The family friendly benefit will begin at 3 p.m. with a ceremonial Puck Throw, followed by a Figure Skating Recital by coaches and participating kids that will include the In Love with Broadway Ice Show, starring the Basic Skills Learn to Skate Program and Ice Stars featuring the Buckskill Winter Club Coaches, at 3:15 p.m. Once the performance is over, it’s time to skate for cause during the Skate-a-thon, which will take place from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. A Public Skate will follow from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. and the event will culminate with an exciting Katy’s Courage Hockey Game under the lights from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
The Hampton Bee listed the Buckskill Skate-a-Thon in their “Weekend Bee:”
