We recently connected with one of our Katy’s Courage Scholarship Recipients, Samara Finckenauer

I am a sophomore at York College of Pennsylvania majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in International Relations.  Katy impacted my life a great deal because you never know what is going to happen tomorrow.  I learned from her to live life to the fullest and to have strength in all that I do.  When I did see Katy in school, she always had a smile on her face and lived for today.  Katy’s Courage has helped me so much; it made it possible for me to go and experience college.  I truly appreciate being the first recipient of Katy’s Courage.  It has given me the chance to have a better education and to experience a great future, which might not have been possible without Katy’s Courage.
