The race starts on Water Street and finishes adjacent to the water and a beautiful harbor. The course is flat with only a few small gentle hills. The race was originally organized by the East End Road and Trail Runners Club, RRCA to benefit Katy’s Courage 501(c)3 with net proceeds of this year’s race going toward local scholarships, The Katy’s Courage Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan and in support of the newly formed partnership: “Katy’s Kids @ CMEE,” with the goal of beginning in the fall of 2014 to offer play and expressive therapeutic counseling opportunities for East End children and adolescents in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of the East End. The focus of the counseling will be grief or loss, including areas such as death of a loved one, divorce, adoption and immigration, and will utilize modalities such as art, music, poetry, dance/movement and drama in a friendly, familiar and supportive environment.
DIRECTIONS TO THE REGISTRATION AREA:
21 Water Street
Coming into Sag Harbor, go down Main Street almost to the end (the water), at the round-about, go around as if you were going to make a u-turn, but instead of a complete u-turn, veer to the right – that’s Water Street. Go past the Post Office, and just beyond the Beacon Restaurant on the right is an open area. That’s where registration will take place.
Obviously, that’s if you are driving – if you are walking down Main St, just turn left at Water Street and walk down past the Post Office (on your left), past the Beacon (on your right), and you will then see the registration area.
